The Pied Piper

The Pied Piper, Missoula Children's Theatre, Hayden, Idaho

Tonight I was able to attend the performance of The Pied Piper my daughter was cast in,  put on by the Missoula Children’s Theatre, and sponsored by the Hayden Arts Commission.  Our daughter has attended two years of acting lessons thanks to scholarships from the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre and this was her first opportunity to have a part in a production.  She was a rat!

My wife happened upon a flyer in the Hayden city building while reserving a park for our daughter’s birthday and though she might like to participate.  On Monday of this week she attended the auditions and was cast as a rat.  She attended rehearsals for the rest of the week and was performance ready for today!

She had an amazing time learning more about acting and what it takes to put on a play, and really enjoyed performing in front of an audience.  I foresee more productions in our future!

Due to the venue being inside I wasn’t able to use my trackchair, but I was able to use my KD Smart Chair because it is so light and accessible.  Because of the loudness of the event and lots of activity, even with earplugs in, I was having some issues with not feeling well.  I help my arms up for two and a half minutes to take the video below and that triggered a paralysis attack.  Thankfully we come prepared everywhere with my medications to abort the attacks and I was able to finishing watching the show.  Living with periodic paralysis can be a very challenging situation, but we are doing our best to make it work so I can participate in life as much as possible.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and video as much as we did.  Do you have any experiences like with with your kids?

Genetic Testing Results
